see behind the scenes of some glaze application here:

Mixing guidelines: glazes are sold in powder of 500g or 5kg. Add water proportionally 1:1 to begin with, after sieving adjust with little extra water as needed to achieve the desired thickness.

Generally 500g (1.1 lb) of glaze makes about 800ml (27oz) of liquid glaze.

How much water to add exactly will depend on each glaze and how you plan to apply it and how thickly made/well absorbing your piece. Several glazes here can be applied with brush (so I suggest to make it more thick), others can be layered (means should be made more thinly) etc etc. That is why no specific water amount can be suggested- read application tips under each glaze.

Important - we make these glazes by hand, so powder is not mixed throughout, so you must mix the whole bag with water in one go to get even formula (YES, that means if you purchase the 5kg (11lb) bag it must mixed with water all at once to get correct formula)!

(for 0.5kg powder you need 1 l bucket, for 5kg powder you need 10l bucket)

firing range 1240-1290 C (oxidation, electric firing) (orton cone 7 - cone 9)

(a few glazes (like the LAVA) just cone 7-8, not higher, specific recommendation under each listing)

NOTE: Shipping costs is weight-based, so the shipping estimate is very precise and displayed at checkout. I do recommend to order multiple items at one go to get the best offer- you will see this in checkout, it varies according to location.
